Thanks, teknobryan.

Can anybody give a comparison between Wavearts Trackplug and the new TBK3? I have trackplug and it is a true sidechain, but I am not so thrilled with the sound. However, this may be due to my inabilities, not Trackplugs.

Threshold set low, ratio pretty high, output gain high, fast attack, fast release...make em work.

Et voila...le pump.

That's more of like a signal to noise ratio tweak imho. Real pumping should throb. that's what she said..........

Guess I'm not a real pumper then.

Wait...that sounds like it may be a good thing...

real pumping is really organic. It's like breathing. The more the
better I say. Unless you're some Trancer and you just want to hear
some snare roll build up, 137 arpeggios at once, and you're really really gay. But I do miss my Manley Labs unit. It was really thick sounding.

Well, from what you've indicated, it sure sounds like you need this too

If someone is gonna say is "well why would you want that???".

Not to be a dick, but don't worry about it, and go back to making Trance.

If anyone knows please post your suggestions.

thx!

But any compressor can be hissy n pumpy if you set it to do so...
Not if it's thin and sounds like ass. And why do an EQ8, POST compressor to thickin it up? I'll pay for the shit bro. I'm just not gonna be using shwag plugs for my sound. I carve my ass off for my sounds. And I gotta have the right tools. Now if I was making queer Trance, it wouldn't matter. Anything will do there.
Buy something from Voxengo, then learn how to convey yourself without appearing as an arrogant moron.

thx!

Digitalfishphones Fish Fillets are probably the best freeware compressors out there period even rivaling many $$$$ vst comps. And they're free for PC win or MAC OS X. >>>>> http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.p ... &subItem=5 Many people that have good comps (including outboard) use these compressors in certain situations as they have a unique sound/characteristic all unto themselves. As seen in the link, you can also remove the front plate of the Block Fish vst comp and tweak its innards to make the compressor act the way you want it to. As stated on Many many boards, these comps should cost $100's of dollars but lucky for the masses, they're free.
