I'll definitely agree with Postal Service, Radiohead, and Sufjan Stevens.
The first song that came to mind for me is VNV Nation's "Arena".

Smack My Bitch - Prodigy

Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up.

The internal battles between one's pitch and one's bitch, the balance, the drama, it's the eternal human struggle that haunts us all.

This song is sad and beautiful. All vocals and instruments by me done in Live 5. It's in a slow reggae/spacey/piscean vibe. It's called BIRTHIN' PAINS. It is my very first post and is good through July 1st 2007.

* 'hey jupiter' - tori amos. definitely a bit masochistic to listen to during a breakup.

* pretty much most of 'the bends' by radiohead... 'black star', 'fake plastic trees', 'nice dream'. i've spent many nights being all introspective to this one...

* 'siberian'- pier bucci... actually, his whole 'familia' album is really emotional....

* 'aftermention' -brainboxing... makes me teary every time

God Within, "The Phoenix" (R.I.T.M.'s River & Rain Mix)

Not really "sad", but a moving track for me. Will always be one of my favs.

This Mortal Coil's cover of "Song to the Siren"

Oh, and +1 for Aim's "Cold Water Music"
