Holy fuck... The potential for that quartet to blur the lines between jazz and DnB is stunning. DnB evolution round 2, ding!!
JIF - I get where you're coming from, I think JoJo eclipses the rest of the band, he's f-ing tight on the changes, the rest play pretty cliche lines. Maybe a little too rehearsed.
The bass - how the hell to reproduce that FX chain?? Is that an Electro-Harmonix?
FWIW Roxorloops - insane beat boxer

didn't dod make a bass synthesizer pedal? I'm qurious if thats all he's using. or he could be running distortion through some auto wah. but I agree it's a really quality effect. I'd venture a random guess that it's an electro harmonix filter whatchacallit pedal with something like a big muff in front of it.

It helps to put text next to youtube links, future searches, who was that one dude, what was that video, what am I gonna be watching??
KJ Sawka's live radio set has been posted I think 4 times now, it's that good. After a bit it's repetitive but the guy's got mad skillz. To a point it's like watching guitar players with crazy chops, you can't fade the talent but want to hear some good toonz. Again, jazz meets classic electronica, give me some real shit.
Is the guy who played the amen break still alive?? Does he have any idea the mess he started? It's all his fault!!!!!!
Browsed to this one

hopefully he is, cause that guy dying better be noticed on a bob moog level. I think it would be f*ing sad if a man thats been sampled litteraly millions of times and influenced the creation of entirely new genres to just pass away without anyone noticing.

I saw his videas a while back. totally sickeningly good. wonder if he's just using the mpc for midi into the computer or internal sounds.

I saw him play with Subtle a few months ago and was blown away. Even though they had a live drummer I kept watching Jel. I didn't see a computer in his live setup but don't know about this video. Obviously there is a computer there but not sure what its function is.
Either way it was impressive to watch this guy make sick beats for a full set off of a MPC.

The bass player on that clip is John Davis whom I used to work with at a music school in NYC. He uses a mooger fooger...
