Same here, hardly ever get a chance to get a sound check. Usually setup the laptop/bcf2000/kaoss mini/mouse/power supplies/external disk on any available surface, then when there are 5mins left on the DJ's set I muscle in on top of his space, rip out the RCA's on the mixer (usually by lead-first, leaving bits of broken RCA in place), then fling his stuff (CD decks will actually fly further than you'd think) away in a broad circle.. making sure to hit as much punters as possible in the process (This works really well as a warm up to my set). If he is using any midi controllers or keyboards I generally smash them to pieces on the stage before my set, then I set fire to the DJ and kick him into the audience. His screaming and the feedback from the broken RCA's left in the mixer generally let me know where the ring-out frequencies reside.
