we've had more grapes than we know what to do with over the last few years out here... which aussie wines make it over there?
If by "over there" you mean the US: some of my favorite drinkin' wines are from Aus. But now the world has discovered what exquisite quality some of them are so their prices are not such a bargain any more. Some really excellent wines are now coming from Chile and Mexico. No reason great grapes can't be grown in any temperate climate of the world...

I used to really like the Caymus Conundrum, back when I was a wine-bar-tender. I'm also a big fan of Evolution 9 (Sokol Blossom) when it comes to crazy blends of white grapes. Both are almost affordable.

that's a cool feature, but it's not exactly intuitive!

can you type other messages into clips to get them to behave differently?

some of our favorite wineries:
Schug
Anderson Valley Winery
Clos Pegas
Carment Dyanamite is a wine we see in restaurants that never disappoints.
Conundrum is a very good wine, I've had a few bottles of that myself.
<spacing out on other fav wineries>

New Zealand style white wines are good, the style being to ferment in steel rather than oak for a cleaner, crisper taste. Good summer wines.

For desert a REALLY stinky cheese paired with a REALLY sweet wine is amazing.

Or a bag of ice and a box of Franzia 'Chillable Red' on a hot day. :P

It's mostly making trips to wine country, getting familiar with the names and then when I come across them later I pick them at restaurants and stores.

i can *HIGHLY* recommend anything from 'Isabel' in NZ if you can find it. they don't do high volume so it's a bit difficult to get at times but i thought it was the best of the marlborough whites when i was there last year.

You need to buck up and spend at least $20 on a good bottle the difference in taste is surprising... WHen having lunch or general meal at home I usually drink $8-12 bottle of wine... I usually have a glass of red a day...

The game we try to play is finding a good bottle under $15, or even $10. Anyone can (usually) pick a great wine at $50, but what's the fun in that? Local wines are always cheaper, we're lucky to live near a large wine producing region. It seems a few of us do, whoohoo!!

i'm in the middle of an awesome session, the creative juices are flowing.
i cant stop to RTFM just now, most people in the world have other jobs where one can not spend enough time in the day to RTFM, I have Live, I love music and when a situation arises I just post my questions on this forum as I create/write, that is my workflow, I apologize you have to answer questions over and over and whatever other annoyance this may cause you, no-one is holding anyone responsible to answer these questions so you can turn the other way if you wish.

Caymus Cabernet is an amazing red wine. :-)
reading the manual takes just about as much time as posting a thread on this forum and returning to read it so don't go pretending you can't do it in the middle of a session or that you work to much to read the manual. I know plenty of people that have the manual at hand when in the studio and it litterally takes 30 seconds to learn something like you are asking.
although, I have no problem with people asking stuff here, I'm not a RTFM type of guy and I welcome all questions. I'm just saying "don't pretend you don't have time to read it cause thats a lie"

Seghesio is a great sonoma county winery that makes, imho, the best california zinfandels. You can pick up the amazing home ranch or old vine zin at the winery in healdsburg (they are somewhere in the low $20 range), their critically acclaimed sonoma zin can be had at safeway for around $15-16. This winery has vines that have been growing since the 1800s from plants brought from Italy.
