Or, you can click on a slider/button to "activate" it and then use the mouse wheel to change it, this way you won't change it by accident.

I really don't understand why Ableton still has not implemented this in Live. And the worst is, solutions like the MAX Device called ONE, where you can control instantly any parameter with a single midi encoder when you click on the parameter you want to control, could at least be a workaround with comparable functionality, but due to the design of Max for Live, it completely destroys the undo history, because one turn of the knob isn't recognized in the same way like in a normal mapping, where you can undo the whole movement. You have to undo hundreds of times for each single step.

I whould love if you could use the scroll wheel to change the Q in EQs!!

+1 At the very least, make it an option. It feels like a cross-daw standard at this point, and renders many alternative control devices (such as monogram console) useless in ableton.
