Glitch can enhance your drumtrack. Even out of a very simple pattern you can get exciting variations. I record them on a separate track, and cut the good parts out of it. On the KVRaudio page this is the highest rated free plugin. I love it.

ill second that emotion - i just picked up an m-audio trigger finger, and as drummer i find mpc-type pads much much easier to bang out a beat on, compared to a keyboard.dru wrote:See that's where a padcontroller is better for this type of thing. Otherwise, look into EZDrummer or Addictive Drums. EZDrummer has a much easier interface and there are plenty of preset midi clips you can drag into a MIDI channel in Live, then edit it using the piano roll.
hitting a pad is a much clearer attack, and im able to get a much wider range of velocity information as compared to hitting keys (and the keys break quicker!).
