agree with Tarekith. if youve got any kind of recent machine with 1gb ram, this stuff is a complete waste of time and has nothing to do with making music!

On my install XP takes 32Mb which I think is about 100Mb less than a regular install.
Sure , wasting 100Mb is not much of an issue if you have at least 1 Gb but when I looked at upgrading mine I figured it's not worth the cost for that old machine, so I bought another machine instead....but the logistic company lost it in transport...so yes I have other issues to concern myself over as well as having to make the best with what I got until then

Still I will without a doubt use my slimmed install when I do get a new machine since I see no need for installing a lot of stuff I never use, even if it only takes a few % of my RAM and a CPU cycle here and there.
But then I'm not only a musician but a geek as well

I still only use EndItAll2 with the default settings before every gig. Works fine for me.

I performed a few of the basic tweaks suggested in this article (background services and PCI latency are the two essentials), and nothing else. Live is solid.

Don't bother with the other services unless you're a RAM-hungry nutcase and don't use your music PC with the internet AT ALL.
