You want to try pumping audio levels in to your dmx, works great.

Well, it feels nice to resurrect this old thread with some closure :)

My sincere thanks to everyone here who responded to my original call for help. In the end, DMXIS was almost entirely beta tested by contributors to this forum and the Harmony Central lighting forum, and I'm most grateful to all of you for your help and feedback.

Dave.

Congrats Dave. My apologies for becoming inactive fairly early in the beta testing, life/priorities change. The final interface looks great and I'm sure there are all kinds of features I'm not even aware of since I dropped out.

Ooh damn. Missed out on the beta.
Congrats on getting the app out. It looks pretty cool.
Though I must admit that at this point I'm just waiting to use the enttec external for Max for Live.
Still, nice to see this project concluded nicely!

Cheers

Thanks chaps, it did feel really good to get this one released. It was a long, slow burner of a project, partly because it grew into a hardware development as well! For anyone who's still interested, Enttec are now shipping DMXIS. You can watch some training videos of it in action here...

...and the latest DMXIS software (fully functional - no restrictions or timeouts) is freely available for download here...

Cheers,
Dave.

Great Dave, nice to see it finally released!

Does the DMXIS hardware unit have any advantages over the Enttec DMX usb pro?

Best,
Kim

Hey dave,

do you know if enttec are going to allow your software to be used with any of their other products? I'd love to use it with my usb dmx pro...

The DMXIS hardware has a 1/4" footswitch input, which lets you use any standard footswitch (single or dual non-latching) to control banks & presets on-stage. It has both 3 and 5 pin DMX outputs, which saves you hunting for that 5-3 pin adapter. The design is also much more appealing to the eye!

DMXIS is only available as a boxed product containing the DMXIS hardware interface + software.

However, the boxed product gives you a massive discount on the software. Or from another perspective, you're effectively getting the shiny new DMXIS hardware interface for a few quid (because the price of a software license alone would be so close to the boxed product that it really wouldn't make sense).
