I did an "Archive and Install/Preserve Users". It's essentially a clean install that imports user settings. However, having tried with a newly created user account with the same results, I don't think importing the user settings is the problem

I installed Leopard Friday night and have this to report so far...

Had to select the install option "Archive and Install" to keep from blue screening on my Mac Pro (Macrumors.com has some other workarounds)

Had to remove "Melodyne Rewire" components since they crashed Live and Logic. Not the app itself or the plugins, but the rewire adapter for Melodyne that's in
~library/Propellerheads, or something to that effect. Reason 4 in Rewire
seems to work fine, in Logic Studio also. Reason on it's own works great also.

Dimension Pro doesn't work
PodXT Live interface is not recognized
M-Audio FW-410 not recognized
Synthogy Ivory crashes when loading

Other than that most things seem OK in 6.10, NI stuff works ok, Ableton
stuff works ok. I have Lexicon Omega and an Apogee Duet, and both
work fine with Live on Leopard.

CWoodOne, YOU DA MAN! How the heck did you figure out that the Melodyne rewire adaptor was the problem. I would never have discovered that; never a suspect. I went back to User Account wherein I had the problem; I removed the offending Melodyne file and Voila!

Thanks. I owe ya.

Great to hear it helped! I made one of those crash error reports for Apple and looked through it and saw it was a rewire issue with Melodyne. I googled around and a beta tester had that problem also, so I took it out. Today I have most of the big bugs worked out, been happily working all day in Soundtrack Pro, no probs with Ozone either. Some plugs seem to take a LOT less CPU, but that could just be because my system is "cleaner" now with less stuff starting on boot.

I did a straightforward upgrade over 10.4.10 and all went smoothly. Running Live 7b10 no problems

I performed a clean install on my macbook pro and installed live 6.0.10, live 7.0.b10 and logic 8, along with enigma drivers for UC33e.

Everything is working fine on my end; i've had no problems whatsoever.

Massive luck to others who are set to embark on an install of leopard.

yes.

even tho i upgraded installed with no issues, i would recommend "archive and install"

this takes your old settings and puts them into a folder called "previous system" or something like that.

you can/should also make it preserve users (which i would do so you DON'T have to re-unlock)

correct me if i'm wrong here, but archive & install is like a clean install with all your old settings and apps intact.

pointed out that the melodyne/rewire plugin components in /Library were making that crash.. I just upgraded to Leopard and about flipped when 7.01, 7.02b6 AND 6.09 would crash on startup.
