don't buy an iPhone
I'm moving to Seattle in a few weeks, not sure on the exact date yet (very frustrating).
Texting to me is dead simple on the iPhone. I hated texting people with normal phone keypads, but it's a breeze on this. The way it organizes your conversations is sweet too. Anyway, it takes a few days for the phone to 'learn' words you type (or misspell) often, once it does it's very fast. Note, I've never used a blackberry, so can't compare to that.
I think if you think of the iphone as a phone with extra features, you might be let down. It's more like a VERY portable computer that just happens to make calls too. I'd say I could do about 90% of my non-studio computer stuff using just the iPhone. Writing this on it in fact as I cook some brats on the grill
Pros:
- everything is integrated, all the apps share info, which makes doing a lot of things like getting directions to someone's house very easy.
- Looks cool, never crashes, lots of really neat web apps out there already (sadly nothing for making music, or I'd be in heaven).
- Nic eiPod, sounds great and movies are much easier to watch than on my 30GB iPod video:

- Call quality is decent, much better than the razr I replaced with this.
Cons:
- No way to DL files.
- No flash support. Not a huge deal for me, but some sites like beatport rely on it.
- Wish you could just drag and drop music and movies in iTunes, instead of syncing playlists.
- Still not even a simple music app, even just a melody creator would make me happy.
Overall very happy though, I thought it was worth $599, at $399 it's a steal IMO.

the iphone or ipod touch would make a pretty wicked clip view controller for live.

I bought into this as well and couldn't be happier.....
...cept it should be mentioned that the Internet is annoyingly slow. Think dial-up. Before I got this phone I never really used my cell to access the Internet because it was both slow and ugly. Now that the Internet is beautiful on this thing it's even more annoying that it's so damn slow.
I think Apple makes great products and they are usually ahead of the curve, but the way they have been releasing products and upgrades so frequently I'm kind of having a conspiracy theory issue on this one. Other phones already have the fast internet technology and I think Apple didn't include it because they are going to milk the iphone as is and then 6 months down the road release a new iphone with high speed internet like it's some new great technology. I bet ya.

remember kids, don't do this at home with your parents' blender, go to a friend's house and use theirs.

I know. I just saw it as an opportunity to use my new favorite term, 'Asshat.'awesome video, it's just a piece of electronics, there's millions more.
I've seen him blend all kinds of crap. I particularly like how well his lil' blender turns ice cubes into fairly convincing snow.

... But Will It Blend?
