cool

Post by objectman » Mon Oct 22, 2007 5:23 pm

cool country music. and I'm a real newbie musician. plus i don't like country as a general rule.

you could use Live to record something like this - but it's more of an analogue-y track anyhow. you could sweeten the guitars / other instruments etc. with some of the effects i suppose.

the only thing really lacking in it is a bit of technical prowess. and it's a tad long? needs a good mix.

you obviously have the singing and creative music skills. i don't really think you need "software" for this track. my only minor gripe is that maybe it's not original enough. you really gotta stand out these days - although i'm not sure about the country music scene in the US much.

i see you also sing christian songs. here in australia, the number one aussie song award (the aria awards) went to a christian band because the followers of the (hillsong) organisation registered their music sales outlet with the aria awards people and they sold the most of one particular album in the whole of australia. so here - you can make money out of christian songs.

very nice stuff though. thank you. 8)

smaltonian, Read the posts, and heard the song. You have great talent and I think I know where your coming from. The vox is very good and your playing is the same. I especially liked the melody and the way you added violin very nice touch. I can appreciate the lyrics and thought they were heart felt. Good Job Let's hear some more! :)

Yeah your vocals are absolutely perfect for this genre. I wouldnt worry about the "originality" issue here, as country and blues, etc, all have this issue and it doesnt really matter - its about emotion first.

I'm not too into christian songs tbh, being an Athiest, but each to their own :)

Your music is very professional sounding. I would say that whether you use Live or an 8 Track reel to reel it doesnt matter. Live, if you get into it, can bring a new creativity in on a subject. I'm sure i read that Beck uses Live and he's from the country and blues background so hey. :)

I have to confess the only country I really listen to is Jonny Cash (I LOVE Fulsom Prison Blues, Ring of Fire, etc :D )

I think you have a good song but you kinda have to make it stand out more.. a song has to be memorable. get creative with your producing and mixing.. trying incorporating different production styles of music within the song.. Dj's do it all the time ( i started djing and now produce) by doing remixes and it can totally change the feel of the song and even widen your audience.. put some movement in your strings maybe with a arp pattern or get a LFO in there do so some damage and add different beat to it.. might sound crazy but give it a try..
