REALLY??
OMG got to try that out when i come home....This would be such a relief, at least some Synths would be much more tweakable this way. THANX for the answer!!!
Anyway it would be nice to have more than 128.....

but for me this is a workaround.
i have to assign it and cannot tweak it very fast with the mouse on the fly.
is this so hard to implement??

i just was one the phone with ableton.
they stated that there could be a small chance that this feature would make it into live 7 final version...
so make this thread a sticky!

It'd be nice if an Abletonian posted in this thread so we can know whether or not to get our hopes up...

i can find no workaround for this. microtonic for example you can only automate stuff for channels 1 to 5. sonic charge have been moaning to ableton about this. time it was sorted!
and improvements to the gui - like more screen element size variability (by channel for example) would be great, rather than sample collections.
glad to see they are removing some features too though. it's time consuming enough as it is to prepare live sets without more options and distractions!
but basically we're fucked. this is going to be an amazing environment to work in but until we get 1mx1m touch screens for performing live with its still going to be like staring at the ocean through a porthole. disorientating.

Yep Microtonic automation up to the first 4 1/2 instruments is a big let down, as in many other items too ie Reaktor etc. Yes there are workarounds but they're just. Anyway, 'nuff said, we can only hope that hint of a chance comes through...please Abletons, please, come on, it'll make us feel so much better about shelling out on all the other stuff!!

if the plugin HAS midilearn, i can assign ANY knob somehow and can automate this within Aleton??
Yes... You assign a knob or slider etc to any parameter and automate it, including in session view
as long as the vst has its own midi learn, you are good to go

where is it?
i like altering the amount of reverb on my z3ta plug - but ableton doesnt allow me, i dont find that such a weird and exotic parameter that i want to automate..

http://www.rgcaudio.com/z3ta+.htm wrote: MIDI Learn
All controls are MIDI Learnable, with adjustable min/max/reverse status via right-click.
Multiple MIDI CC#'s are possible to be assigned to same control, multiple controls can be attached to one MIDI CC#.
thanks i'll give it a go..

yes limiting access to only the fist 128 parameters IS A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!
they told me about 3 years ago they won't ever do anything about that
and they are keeping their promise
...anyway I am so fed up I will buy fl studio instead of live 7... much more complete than live
Please, Ableton, at least be clear...

So we've got somebody writing this and someone writing that someone at Ableton told him "maybe we'll fix it this time"... We are left to rumours which is not healthy. A statement from Ableton should come and clear all this fog. For many people
the 128 parameters limit is more important that many new bells and whistles.
