Is My FastTrack Pro Broken?

Are you trying to record your instruments in Live or just use them as Midi controllers? If you are trying to record them, then you also need to set up one of Live's channels to receive audio input from whichever input is setup on your fast track pro and then turn that channels monitoring to on.

Well I have the input and output set to FastTrack and there are lights when playing the keys. I will admit that sometimes when I switch on and have a clean set up that it doesn't work. I think I really need to note all the settings down when it does work, then I can be sure that its not something I'm doing wrong.

Now when it has worked, and the Midi has recorded, when I play it back, it doesn't sound the same. I've had it playing a piece of music recorded from my Yamaha Keyboard, and it doesn't sound the same. I've also managed to change it so that the sounds are playing through my speakers, though as I've said, its not consistent in this. (Re: I'll check settings when its does play).

Maybe my instrument needs mapping or something. Not sure I understand all that yet, but I guess I'll get there in the end, but any further pointers would be useful.

The other thing to note is that when its playing anything back, be it the recording of my voice or guitar, its quite quiet and I've got everything up full. Hmmm??

In your audio preferences section check to see if you have the option to select ASIO drivers instead of Direct X/MME. Then make sure you have your input selected to your sound card and configure your inputs.
