i agree.
on battery 3, when i try and manipulate a particular cell it seems to manipulate all cells,i.e eq/compression, . wat am i doing wrong?

Err - no.

Maybe RTFM?

I got it for $99, and I'm happy for that price, mostly for the samples. I like drum racks much better for my workflow, but Battery isn't too bad. The main thing I don't like is each kit has a totally different MIDI layout, as mentioned above. It makes no sense! I wish we could import Battery muti-samples into drum racks.
Then again, someone here is working on integrating drum racks and Battery!

That was a random bug I kept getting too when I was using it.

That would be a no from me,,,
But then i've been using it since version 1 and so i'm reasonably familiar with the samples,,
Beyond that though,, i pretty much use the same base samples every time and have them loaded into a user kit mapped how i like it,, same way as BFD as it happens,,
I can then swap out kicks,, snares,, hats,, what ever as i need but retain the same mapping,,,
i c....i been using battery on and off since version 2. i did hear version 1 is more stable than 2. one thing i didn't like about 2 was the latency between that and live 5 so i took a break from it. then i tried version 3 and although the latency was fixed on it....i still prefer to map the drums i need and put it in either impulse or sampler and mesh it with my own drum samples.
but for 12GB of drums for $99.........can i complain? 8.33 for 1GB of well recorded studio drums? with all the effects on battery /ableton/ etc there really is a need to keep on buying various drum libraries.....it is funny how people will buy battery then ask where they can get some hot reggaeton drums and you know all you really need to do is mess with the Eq and pitch those snares and you can stop buying rip off drum kits off of ebay

It's not the workman's fault when the tool is defective. I can read the manual all day, won't make a difference to the many things that are still broken in B3.
So I agree - the library is a good deal, but the program itself sucks.
YMMV...

Well that's fucking
weird - it works flawlessly for me.
I must be doing something wrong.

I don't know man.... a lot of people rock that shit.
I really like the sound of it but my beat building skills are whats the problem... setting up a template in Live has helped some though.
I definitely think they should add a little sequencer in though, that would rule.

It's not just me, you can go over to their forum and find page after page of people having the exact same problems. Like I said, they are planning another update. If it works great for you, consider yourself lucky. It's not that I don't like the program, I love it actually. But it's still a flaky POS for many many people; they've agknowledged the need for another update...what more can I say?
The price is great now, I paid $200 for it over a year ago. I agree it's worth a hundred bucks for the 12GB library alone. If it works well for you, that's icing on the cake. I wasn't so lucky.
Here's details on the upcoming update:
http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... hp?t=53921
The update will include the following improvements:
New and improved features:
* Browser preview for .CL3 files
* Improved In-Kit preview
* "Replace Sample" function for cells
* Improved Drag-and-drop support for hosts
* Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" compatibility
* Improved browser sorting
* Improved loading times
Fixes:
* Several stability fixes
* Several file import fixes
* Several host compatibility fixes
* Limitation to 24 outputs fixed
* Multiple triggered cells now light up correctly
* Several usability and cosmetic fixes

Haven't a clue what you mean about slow load times - my Battery loads sounds in about half a millisecond.
Sorry, I actually meant something else by slow load times - where you have to right-click a cell, choose cell library, choose the type of drum (cymbal, snare, tom, etc.), choose the style of drum (acoustic, processed, analog, digital, etc.), and finally choose a damn sample. And if that sound doesn't work out for me, I have to repeat the 5 step process all over again! Talk about a real groove killer

So you haven't discovered the built-in browser yet then?
The one which allows you to browse for sounds, audition them with one click and then load them with a dbl click?
