I had to reset to factory settings, that sets Scene 1 to the mappings that Meta posted up, then in settings I had to set The PadControl as a control surface, set the input to Port A and the output to CTRL 1 and then at the Drum Rack I locked it to the padKontrol. Now the pad controls where ever the grid box is scrolled to, it's such an awesome new feature. :)
how do you reset to the Factory settings.. i can't seem to find it in the manual...? thanx

Just program in the numbers posted earlier in this topic and save to scene1. I got it working in 3 minutes easy..

Yeah it was hiding in my manual too but it's waaaay easier than recreating an entire scene. Here you go:

Good question, I didn't even think of that but if I can set it to a spare fader it'd be perfect.

Sorry you're having issues setting up your pad controller to work with Drum Racks.

There is a brief discussion about how to set this up in the "Pad View" section of the Racks chapter in the manual.

Are you sure that your padKONTROL is selected in the Control Surface chooser in the MIDI/Sync Preferences, and that the track containing your Drum Rack is record enabled?

I need to check on this, but the pad controller auto-updating may only work if the controller is using the default preset. Try pressing the Dump button next to the padKONTROL chooser and see if this helps.

Best,
If you could extend this for the microkontrol it would help. In the meantime I'll try resetting things.

Anyone figured out something for this? My Trigger Finger on preset 1 works perfect with the Drum racks, but I would like to avoid manually scrolling the pad viewer with the mouse.

Damn! Well I'm not counting on it being added any time soon. I won't be in my studio for a few days to try, but can putting a pitch plugin in front of the drum rack achieve a similar effect, or will the automapping ignore it?

yea the pitch plug trick does work. i had it working with the pK's top 4 pads set to switch octaves, but yea, being in automap mode will screw it, so turn that off. this is a more elegant solution ;)

in midi map mode, select the 'pitch' in the pitch plugin and hold pad 1 and pad 4 to map the 4-key range, and set the map range sliders from 0st to +36st. now you can flip between octaves. you only get 12 pads of drum hits instead of 16, but it works great. just layer your kits in sets of 12.

I recently had this problem too - luckily I found this post.

The key things are:

1.
Install the padKONTROL Editor Librarian:
http://www.korg.co.uk/products/software ... ontrol.asp
> Editor Librarian

2.
Ensure that the padKONTROL Editor Librarian can see the padKONTROL:
C:\Program Files\KORG\padKONTROL\ReadMe_E.rtf (English manual / Windows installation path)

3.
TRANSMIT the Factory Presets to the PK - these can be downloaded from here:
http://www.korg.co.uk/products/software ... ontrol.asp
> padKONTROL Software > PadKONTROLPreload_Scenes.zip

4.
Select Scene 1 on the padKONTROL

Cheers,
Dan
