I have Reason and Live set up to the specs you described and it is working.
However, if I play (for example0 a piano patch from the NN XT and quantize (or use no quantize) to 16th notes, Reason seems to be slightly ahead of the clock. And the midi doesn't track properly.
It is so close to being way cool. Hopefully there is a fix or the Ableton engineers will work it out.

Hi,
Are you using a MAc or a PC? And which operating system? Also, is it a consistent (=always the same) latency that you experience? Is it on playback of a MIDI clip, or when you play with a keyboard with the track armed?

Midi Problem

Hi,
as I said at the beginning of my post I'm using a PC (very powerful one custom built by VisionDaw) running Windows XP.
The problem is on playback only. There is not a problem with latency initially.

So, there is no problem while recording, but only once you play back the clip? IS it a consistent problem, or only appears sometimes?

It appears to be a consistent problem. It is sloppy. different than when I use say Trilogy as a VST or Electric.....

sloppy means it ''jitters", like the timing of the clip is fluctuating?

when playing back a midi recording it sounds as though it is ahead of Lives clock (or behind?) If the quantize is turned on it plays back improperly.

Is the track armed? If so, try turning monitor to OFF, and/or disarm it.

This is embarrassing
...now it's not doing it???? Live crashed and I had to re boot and perhaps that did it....these machines are funny that way....if it does it again CONSISTENTLY I'll be sure to let you know..

Armaury? Are you still there?
I'm having a new problem. Mind you previous to 7 I rarely had major issues. I'm sure most of the problems are my ignorance.
Now the NN XT's volume stays the same no matter what I do-unles I actually turn it down at the unit itself. Its routed 1\2 mix L mix...nest to it on the track right (in live) I have a Malstrom that works fine-the volume I mean?
Perhaps I'll try re booting....
