i like analog, but don't think it compares to everything you get with reason (though if you've got 3, maybe you're just getting thor).

hmmmm its a bit of a coin toss:

reason 4:
regroove mixer w/ mpc 60 groove templates
thor the mighty synth that hardly eats up the cu and puts massive sounds on your track

analog;
a nasty sounding filter. its quite easy to make some warm sounds.

now if its between the two it would be the reason 4 upgrade. but if its the whole live suite of sampler, operator, electric, tension, and analaog......you know what the answer is.

Have you tried the free Synth1 (get it from http://www.kvraudio.com) - I like it a lot better than Live's Analog - it has a much broader functionality, and it's free, though I'm not sure what expert opinion would be regarding comparative sound quality etc.

I wouldn't do either. Analog is quite capable, but is the one instrument out of the suite that I would give up first. Not that I'm not happy to have it, but I would NEVER have bought it individually. Do you know what you could get instead for the same price or slightly more? Some real swiss-army knife synths with great phatnesses indeed.
