Sidechain Compression

wait I use Live 6 and I see a Sidechain feature on Compressor 2..

but it's just built-in side-chain compression through the internal eq. Useful, but not really what the oldskool pros call "external key input".

The Live gate plug is great too for doing things like adding a burst of distortion to a bass line every time the kick drum hits. Way cool.

Build one with racks and a freq band splitter based on EQ8 in HQ mode. Then side chain each band separately.

i should try this as im looking for a good multiband. what concerns me about this is phase problems when recombining the bands.

im pretty sure eq8 isnt a linear phase eq, although i could be wrong.

anyone know?
