won't the Roger Linn/Dave Smith collaboration put Akai's high end stuff to shame? after that Roger and Dave just need to release stripped down versions to target the mpc1k/2k and mpc500 markets.

buh-bye akai.

Yes The MPC60 Mark I is a fine piece of kit. Ive used it too and doesnt matter how much I loved the sound I neede dmore RAm inside the box. The S950 would be a nice replacement soundwise, fortaunately. But unfortunately, I didnt took an effort to pick one up yet which includes the SCSI kit.

Hmm I see, you were being sarcastic. Oh well...

No sarcasm here. I will own the Linn Drum II first. Analog. Bitches.

To be honest I dont really mind the fact that they didnt upgrade the MPC4000 because now it will keep its value somewhat. :P

Maybe the title of the thread should be "Akai drops dead...."
I think it is first time ever that I am so impatient to get a piece of gear. Evolver is my best non acoustic sound, Dave is a genius and so is Roger, the concept is right and something I really need.
BTW. I know it might be just 1% of what to expect but check the sounds of the drum machine build into Adrenalinn, it is only 2 measures loops for guitarists to keep beat but lots of wicked sounds. Really good BDs,

i am happy with my 1000 but i still think this box is sick for two reasons, 1 like all the extra q sliders and two i like the idea of an in the box synth on an mpc, especially if it sounds good.
