Live 7 just about blew out my speaking last night. Again!
I think it is worse for live than other apps because of it's live nature. If im not mistaken other daws stop the audio when you drop in new plugins...
Light-Track Studio... In development.

Good thing you didn't have headphones on, huh?
Sometimes I wonder about some of these preset makers....the ones where the patch is just clipping as fuck by default. Seems like it would be obvious when setting up the patch that there is a problem, unless the patch was created to played at extremely low velocity settings, in which case there could be some warning or other way to warn the user. Seems like nearly every plugin has certain patches with such a problem.

I have still yet to experience any of these sound issues within live 7 and I've produced about a dozen tracks, heavily leaning on the 'AAS' instruments and Sampler. I have gotten Tension to make some 'louder' noises with a spontaneous tweak on a couple of occasions, but nothing that was going to blow my eardrums out or fry my headphones or monitors.
These white noise bursts have not occurred in Live 6 or Live 7 for me and I have used both extensively for the past 15 months on electronica, alternative/rock and house tracks for my own work and friends.

http://soundcloud.com/umbriel-rising http://www.myspace.com/leedsquietmandemos Live 7.0.18 SUITE, Cubase 5.5.2], Soundforge 9, Dell XPS M1530, 2.2 Ghz C2D, 4GB, Vista Ult SP2, legit plugins a plenty, Alesis IO14.
I own both ableton suite and AAS instruments.
Their stuff have the same problems since they are out and nothing have been fixed on this side.
I was hoping when buying the suite to get rid of these kind of probs but as I can see I have been fucked a bit. Their plugs sounds awesome for sure but that kind of behavior is simply unnaceptable. I stopped using tassman cause of this, I was getting weird standing loud noise for no damn reason.
I was thinking it was related to my sound card or my system but since I saw an AAS demo where it happened I know it's software related.
I'm surprised you got the same behavior with sampler, this is a really bad news to me.

I have really liked the Presonus Central Station. I got the remote control, which can give you the volume change in a second.
Worse situation I can ever remember is when I was reamping to a Fender Super Reverb, and digital noise came through it. It was the loudest thing I have ever heard. Sad thing is that my daughter was in the room.
Put a limiter on the master, especially if you are playing with delay effects.
