Can you suggest an audio interface with these features?
size & weight
since Presonus didn't find the necessity to post the size & weight of the FB on their site, I wonder if one of you owners would?
Thanks,
Thanks,

i have the inspire. works great. If i need a seperate audio cue output, i create an aggregate device in mac OSX which basically creates a virtual sound card that includes the built in sound and the inspire. so, you play out of the inspire, but set up a cue mix using the built in headphone jack.

I'd like to go for the inspire, because I want to go as cheap as possible, and like I said, I already have a firepod for most things, so the inspire might be good for a traveler. I can get it for just 165 dollars now. The lack physical knobs for main outs, headphone out and inputs are a bit of a concern though.
Most other things suggested here are more than I'd like to pay for a second interface.

aggregating combines two audio interfaces, so no you can't give the inspire another stereo output, you have to use your headphones wth yer mac. I actually like the no knob thing, I have a few preset settings I can always go back to for recording vocals or guitars and other instruments. If i start writing a song, i can always come back and add vocals with exactly the same settings if i want to.

yeah i agree with this as well. i'm running audiofire 4 on my mac pro without any issues. it'll run off bus power as well, so you can toss out the power plug. echo doesn't get a lot of love because the company is terrible at marketing, but they are reliable and good sounding interfaces.bathyscaaf wrote:Not sure about #5, but I'm using the Echo Audio Audiofire 4 and all the others apply. Love it.
also it's been mentioned that the audiofire 4 uses the same converters as RME's fireface 400 (not 800 mind you). if that's true, it's a complete steal at its price point. the preamps sound good too.
