I saw him live on Saturday in Berlin, and it was a really good concert. the guy has a lot of energy and drive

Reminded me a lot of LCD, Rapture, Riton, ESG, obviously Prince, some old disco stuff, all this in a very pop coating.

very cool for a Saturday night warm-up. and the ladies just loved it!

He played only one track that's not on the album, and to be honest it was terrible, the guitarist plainly cannot sing, and it all in all sounded awful.

so if this track is a part of the MIA-upcoming-album, it's not a big loss :P

and I read somewhere he was only using old Casio keyboards. very very basic stuff he said.

at least he didn't spit on a cop and try to pummel the piss out of him.....

i thought that the missing item was a hard drive and not a computer....not that it's any less critical than a laptop would be - anything that's a real showstopper would have to be carry on... maybe he had a lot of stuff like that and had to make a choice as to what needed to be checked and what didn't. a lot of musos that do fly dates are faced with that dilemna. there's only so much "mission critical" stuff you can carry.

he's a tool for not backing up 7 months of work, though. anyone know what hardware he uses, specifically? aside from the supposed 15 year old computer, of course.

I made a valiant attempt at recreating that sound.
