It also saves you the trouble of trying to find and nail down a female vocalist for ambient vocal effects. Storm Drum also sounds great for epic soundtrack music. I've also heard their built in convolution reverbs are top notch.

What's the big deal about iLok I keep hearing about? Is it really that much of a pain to have yet another thing plugged into a USB port?
Just bought it NIB on Ebay for $225. Now I have to get an iLok key though. Can I get one anywhere online or does it need to be like a specific Eastwest one or something?
You lucky bastard. I just checked ebay and the going rate is still $445. Damnit, why do I always miss the drug addict auction.
LOL, I hear ya. If it makes you feel any better, I don't actually have it in my hands yet. That remains to be seen.......Plus I had to buy one of those damn iLok keys for $40. Bastards.

That's cool. My focus this month is on DJ related stuff for the gigs I don't have.

I have the Symphony Orchestra and its gorgeous. As small as single violin and as powerful as a large Orchestra, this thing blows my mind.

Well I guess this was too good to be true. I got this today and tried to authorize it, but it's already been registered. Now the bastard is no longer even available on Ebay. I called Eastwest and they told me if I can get the guy's iLok username, they'd be willing to unauthorize his copy and authorize mine, so that's what I'm hoping for. I emailed the dude and threatened him with legal action if he doesn't send me his iLok username. Otherwise I'll have to file a dispute with Paypal or Ebay.

I sure hope you also didn't decide to Western Union $3500 to that dude with Mac Pro with every known piece of software ever made.

All I can say is, when things seem too good to be true, they are. They really, really are. And now, trying to save a buck, if you actually still want to obtain this software, you'll be paying more than anybody else. It never works out in the end.

I still think that East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra is the best sounding string sample player out there. Love it.

Nah, I'd never be that stupid. If I have to I can file a dispute with Paypal/Ebay and probably get my money back. I've got the dude's address. I'm still hoping he just sends me his iLok username so I can have Eastwest switch the authorizations for me. Then I still come out ahead. If not, I'll have to go after the guy through Paypal/Ebay.

OK, so the guy who sent me the package - his name and address is on the return address of the package and it also matches the name on his paypal account. I googled it and the name does come up at that address with a phone number. Should I call it? Or do you figure it's just some bogus name/number?

I'd like to put in a vote for Symphony Orchestra and Gypsy as well. I don't tend to go in for too many sample packs, but this is one of the few companies that releases at a very high quality (in my opinion).
