I use 2 screens as well - just upgraded the external one to a 23" Cinema HD, and it's the best thing since sliced bread. I use them mostly for media stuff though. I develop strictly on one screen and usually with my nose almost touching it.

On my desktop computer I use two screens. 20" wide screen for Live and 17"
for Reason and VSTs. I also use the second monitor for all the tool windows in
Photoshop. In fact, that's pretty much what I use the second monitor for:
dumping all the stuff that clutters the main window. I do most of my work on
my laptop these days, and it's a hell of a difference when I switch to my
desktop. The wide screen is awesome for Live, but I think two 17" monitors
would be more comfortable.
