I'd prefer if b0unce posted more in topic shit, but he doesn't. even only knowing the gist of this gear lust, it's safe to say that if anyone were to ask for advice on a synth, 99 out of 100 posters would ask him over you. I doubt anyone would think to ask you at all. just because you ran out and bought a Snow you think you get cred? nope, using mom's credit card does not make you a gear whore.

Anyways, somewhere in your drivel you do bring up a good point in your post... people asking for advice while shopping for gear. If you do that, you are opening yourself up to peoples opinions and also usually starting the grounds for a flame fest do to the fact that someone spent their hard earned money on something and are not yet ready to say that it IS NOT the best thing since sliced bread. You get a real close minded viewpoint.

I am 100% honest in my evaluation of any gear. I've admitted when I bought something and it sounded or performed like like crap (Roland MC series, M-audio soundcard, frusterations with upgrades with Korg Legacy collection.) and when I have tested or demoed gear that I thought was lackluster or not worth the money (Yamaha monitors, Blue Sky monitors); the stuff that sounds good no matter what the cost is (Access Virus, Dave Smith MEK) or the items that provide great value for the dollar (Korg EMX, KRK monitors). I'm 100% fair and have admitted I've made mistakes when buying gear.

I also recall telling you I simply wanted monitors that fit the apartment I live in. I only needed 5" monitors. I simply have no use for an 8" monitor.

I honestly do not want to be a "gear whore" as you put it. By most peoples definitions, I have a very, very minimal setup albiet one that costs more and sounds better than the behringer, PC, Alesis setup. I'm happy. I don't want any "cred" and if I did why would I seek it on this forum? I live a nice life. Do you?

I just want to know why Gibson has to kill all that is good? I love their guitars, but the company killed Oberheim, and Opcode, and.......

So now only one company makes a OBX VSTi and no Matrix 12 VSTi........ blah.
