Sounds like a fairly healthy take on the whole thing. Could use a little more dogma and it's not exactly a banner you could go to war with, but it's a start.
Er, not sure, what happened to the last post. I had come up with the exact argument to end all religious debate once and for all, but seemed to have lost it when i submitted it. Can't remember how it went now. Bloody Microsoft. How typical.
Have to go, enjoy the mud slinging to come.

whew, glad that's cleared up!
Gosh, if only we could get rid of religion, then all our problems would be solved!

I was given a DVD of a "documentary" called Epicenter, which is a neo-con christian propaganda piece about the current situation in the middle east. Basically half of the documentary was about how these crazy people within Islam believe their savior is about to come back, and they think they can bring about the end of the world, and how dangerous of a belief this is. The other half of the docu is about how Jesus is about to come back, and how it can happen if we just get rid of those pesky Muslims hanging out around the Temple.
Would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.

do you think Bush is dumb enough and religious enough to be one of those people? the man has Pat Robertson on speed dial, no lie, it's mentioned in the movie "Bush's Brain." anyway, read that theory somewhere, that Bush wouldn't mind bringing about the apocalypse since it's god's will.
anyone who believes in the invisible omnipotent boogey man in the sky should be be allowed to hold the office of President.

Bush is probably that dumb, but the people pulling the strings just use it as a means of controlling people, and it works. My father-in-law acknowledges that bush et al lied to get us to go to war, but that was ok because it is God's will. Unbelievable. Maybe bush is really a smart guy, but it seems possible to me that he is being manipulated through religion.

Still....
There's a lot of Jesus bashing around here (as if that poor guy hasn't had enough beatings. Did you see Mel Gibson's movie? Fuck me red, but that dude got himself a serious beat down!)
Jesus Bashing is great fun, but Islam and Mohammad get off way to easy around these forums. Maybe everyone here is just a little gun shy because our Great And Noble Christian Army is occupying Iraq? Or perhaps it's that you risk getting your arms and head chopped off if you even so much as make fun of them and their prophet in a cartoon?
I can see that. However, no group who believes in a dude *ahem, sorry....prophet* that rode a white winged horse that had the face of a man gets a free pass in my book.
And those folks that believe in the fat little Man-God who sits Indian Style (sorry, Native Americans) also get off way to easy.
Anyway, Jesus cool. Any God with a swimmer's body is okay by me.
Hmm.
It's threads like this that make me think the Zombie apocalypse just can't get here fast enough...

oops.
a year from now we'll have a president with a reasonable grasp on the english language and probably one that would be willing to address the question of religion and politics. until then, let's hope for an assassination. Osama, I'm looking at you, twat, I know you post here.

Dude, that just cannot happen and you KNOW why. We'd get Cheney, and I know Osama just isn't up for a two-for-one sale.

but Al Qaeda wants what's bad for the US, so you're saying that Cheney would be good for the US and he'd do a better job at finding Waldo?

I'd like to see a separation of government and economy, similar to separation of church and state.

No, no. Cheney'd make Bush look like a pushover. In fact, fuck Osama. I'm surprised that Cheney hasn't had Bush taken out yet for being such a pussy.
