I have just discovered, that the nocturn sends only MIDI CC or pitch bend

But I need note numbers for the buttons....

Normally the buttons just toggle on/off, but if you want the buttons to function like triggers, you have to put a 0 in the step field. (Max: 1, Min: 0, Step 0 ...)

Um, I don't have a Nocturne but the Remote SL will send note numbers from buttons. Are you _SURE_ the Nocturne can't ?

How is the functionality of the sped dial? Some have reported that it does not work as well as it should.
Are the LED rings around the knobs a good level of illumination -would it work well in both a darkened environment & daylight?

The manual reads: "Only MIDI CC 0-127 and pitch bend messages are available."
The brightness of the LED´s is OK.
The speed dial works good with Live. It works not so good with Logic. You have to take care to take your finger from the speeddial before moving the mouse again.
Until now I am quite satisfied with it. I will use it as a little controller for Live-DJing.

Cool, thanks.
How easy is MIDI editing? For example, if you wanted to use more than one unit at the same time, is it easy to assign discreet MIDI assignments to each unit? Does it come with an editor application?

Well, its taken me a while to get used to automap, but its running smoothly now,
so far i have only mapped it to Microtonic and Abl pro
but im loving it
it maps microtonic like a dream!!
I have managed to get 4 pages setup for my djsets
took me a while to figure that the crossfader needed to be mapped on all pages, but im loving it!! mapping buttons is no problem??
Build quality is excellent and its looks the part
gonna do my first dj set with it in a hour or so

oh and the speed dial is cool, might be a bit tempremental, could be me
but it works on tempo, you can move loop braces , warp markers adjust the size of clip view???
endless fun to be had

USB on the side is useful if you have the controller directly in front of your laptop (i do this if i haven't been given much room to set up)
