+1 for Scorn. "Evanescence" is a good, creepy Scorn release.

Also Soma "The Inner Cinema", nice & moody, very interesting material

dont mean to hijack the thread, but did you ever listen to Meathook Seed?

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=9944

The first album (embedded) was amazing. Second one was ok, but try and checkout the first one if you can. Half of Napalm Death with half of Obituary. As the review says it sounds like a half-speed Napalm Death crossed with Godflesh.

Godflesh, now thats definitely dark and moody and the vocals are more textural than anything else.

I think what this forum is missing is a thread about metal / grind :)

Just checked Meathook Seed out and grabbing a copy of Embedded right now. If you like that, then Nailbomb is essential- http://www.amazon.com/Point-Blank-Nailb ... 586&sr=1-1
Holy crap! Buy that used, insanely overpriced.

Old Pitch Shifter for fans of Godflesh- http://www.amazon.com/Industrial-Pitchs ... 720&sr=1-8

Crushing doom/funeral metal from Australia- http://www.amazon.com/Disembowelment/dp ... 102&sr=1-2

Grind that grooves! Blood Duster also from Australia- http://www.amazon.com/Fisting-Dead-Yees ... 339&sr=1-2

I'm drinking Yellow Tail Shiraz right now.

Pot head/vegan grindcore out of Pennsylvania, drummer and bassist from Brutal Truth- http://www.amazon.com/Ethos-Musick-Exit ... 942&sr=1-3

PM me if this interests you- http://www.amazon.com/Smoking-Songs-Exi ... 942&sr=1-2

The HEAVIEST album ever recorded!- http://www.amazon.com/Jerusalem-Sleep/d ... 964&sr=1-8
Supposedly Dopesmoker sounds better and is longer, but this is the one I've heard so..............

Another damn good recording from Sleep and Billy Anderson, sludgy, stoned out, and noisy raw fucking power- http://www.amazon.com/One-Sleep/dp/B000 ... 964&sr=1-9

It will stone you 8O http://www.amazon.com/Methods-Attaining ... 644&sr=1-6

Pill popping, booze drenched, dizzying guitar feedback galore- http://www.amazon.com/Dopesick-Eyehateg ... 869&sr=1-3

Another Australian band= Industrialized/noisy sludge core(if Godflesh just came out recently, this what they would sound like)- http://www.amazon.com/Guattari-West-Flo ... im_m_img_1

US forerunners of grindcore, folks say this predated Napalm Death and Carcass, but who cares who is right! Its fucking rad as shit!- http://www.amazon.com/Horrified-Repulsi ... 885&sr=1-1
