i bought an MIJ Fender Jazzmaster with gold hardware for $350 about 10 years ago.
i think they are worth +$1500 now used; that is, if you can find one with gold hardware...
once bought a tr-606 for $50... sold it for $100
bought a Yamaha tabletop analog delay thingy for $40. i think they are worth at least 2x that on ebay....
a Mackie 1402 for $25, because the guy selling it was too nice (he knew it was cheap, but just wanted it out of his room)

My best gear purchase was likely the Roland MC505, I probably learned more about writin tunes, playin live, and synthesis in general with that box than anything else.
Best deal on gear was a mint Roland TB303 for free, which beats a pitcher of beer.
Guy didn't know how to use it, said it was broken, so I offered to look at it for him. Worked fine, he just didn't know how to program it, and in the end he moved and I never heard from him again. Barely knew the guy anyway.
Sold it last year for almost a grand, great deal

That was me, mother fraker. I'm suing you for $1000, plus 2 million for pain and suffering.Tarekith wrote:My best gear purchase was likely the Roland MC505, I probably learned more about writin tunes, playin live, and synthesis in general with that box than anything else.

Adam monitors - I've ranted on and on about good monitors, they affect EVERYTHING I do, everything sounds better.
BCR2k - so damn cheap, so versatile.
me loves me guitars. if my place was on fire, I'd grab those before any other bit of gear.
