OT - Lemmy - The Movie

Legend has it that Lemmy lived in the house near Tregaron that was the famous LSD factory busted in Operation Julie in 1977.

Infamously the investigating police ended up trippin thier boxes off from the residue lsd that was left all over the place; wallpaper, floors, everything basicly.

So it goes, Lemmy got his name because whenever anyone turned up with drugs he's say "Lemmy have it!"

This is pretty much a local legend due to a couple of the original chemists living near me (the dad of one of my mates did 10 years as a result of the bust)

Anyone else heard of this

nope, the way I heard it - from the horses mouth via an interview recorded on video - was he was always bumming cash (etc) off people, most notably five pounds. 'lemmy a fiver' ....'lend me' became 'lemmy' , because he said it so often, in much the same way 'give me' becomes 'gimme'

That was on some late night tv on channel 4, there was also talk of sex, drugs, starring in a porn (newish at the time) about that 'bobbit' incident where a guy got his cock chopped off by his angry girlfriend. Basically if he got the nick for saying 'lemmy have it' regarding drug-use....he'd have said it on this show for sure.

First gig I ever went to was Motorhead on thier Iron Fist tour, that gig left quite an impression and made me a little deaf for a day or so.

He definitely deserves recognition for still "doin it" at his age.

And Bounce is right cos I seem to remember that the name came from "lemmy a quid til Friday", or something similar.

One evening I clicked a bunch of drinks with Lemmy at the Rainbow in Hollywood and got wasted with three other blokes.
Smoked a ton of his cigarettes too. Seemed like everybody stopped by the table, and Lemmy gave em all a bit of time.
He was a perfectly normal reasonable dude. Total unassuming rock star. He's probably wondering what the movie is for.
