sorry, but reinstallation of what? the file..or the program...what if I can't find the original clip...

Thank you to the people who started this thread. I had the same problem in 2011 with Live 8. Missing media files, active metronome but without sound. The solution was to follow the path described in the previous posts: Resources > Misc > Metronome project file > Samples folder. I found that the two .WAV files associated with the metronome were missing. The easiest fix was to take an entire new Metronome project file(from an uncorrupted installation on my other computer) and replace it. No need to reinstall or create a new metronome from scratch.
