Maybe to some degree. Im not saying they have different physics, that they are more advanced in their knowledge. Alot of ufos have been known to vanish in broad daylight.

A bit like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow then?

The closest star to earth, aside from the sun, is Alpha Centauri, 4.3 light years away.

This means that if Alpha Centauri had exploded 4 years ago tonight we would not even see the light from the flash for about 3 or 4 more months.

Light travels at roughly one hundred eighty six thousand miles per second.

So think about it, 186 thousand miles per second and 4 years 4 months to see the flash. That's pretty far. And out of all of those stars up there in the sky that is the closest star I'm talking about.

Distance in space is so vast that our minds can not even begin to comprehend. Picture how long it would take you to walk 50 miles. Picture how far it is to the other side of the world.

Picture a single grain of sand sitting by itself in the center of a football stadium. Imagine that grain of sand is our solar system.

I'm not one for all of the alien conspiracy theories. But it's my opinion that with the universe being as mind numbingly large as it is, with all of those millions of stars you see out there in the night sky, and all of the ones you don't see, all making up their own solar systems with their own orbiting planets, with all of this vast, infinite space, well.......

It just seems silly to me to think that this planet is the only one with living creatures inhabiting it. What would be the odds of that? 1 in, well, infinity right?

And out of any other form of life that does happen to exist out there, to think that we would just happen to be the most advanced - another long shot if you ask me.

So, whether it's a piece of moss like vegetation growing on a rock on some plaet 60 billion light years away, or a race of hyper intelligent blobs just over the next galaxy, the odds that we are the only life sustaining planet in the universe are pretty slim I think.

And that is about as much thought as I put into it. I still get pissed off when I turn on the history channel and see "UFO Files".

I love science, think of it the other way around, why do you have to insult science by letting your imagination lead you to believe such things?

I believe the possibility of life on other planets, spores, molds, fungii, single cell organisms, but not some Steven Spielberg movie. the universe is limitless, given an infinite number of possibilities anything it possible. we don't have to contain it to our universe either, what about other dimensions?

abduction phenomena... yeah, there are also mental illnesses. Ockham's razor.

"believe about the possibility" - sure, a possibility is not an absolute, no great leap there.
WORD!
You also have to take into account that what some people consider evidence is a lens flare from Photoshop to me. But to some people thats proof, forget that it could all be made up, if you really want to believe you will. It would be interesting if there where ever any hard evidence. Until then I'm not trusting Dan Akroyd and a bunch of people who claim to have been abducted. There are aliens in existence somewhere in the universe and possibly the galaxy. Now to assume they are humanoid, detectable by us, or even concerned with what we do is a huge guess.

I have drunk beers with Tone Deft and I can confirm he exists.

But do you think fish believe in fish-hook abductions?

Fish and alien abduction victims are very similar in so far as they have dysfunctional memories..

Our existence on this planet certainly supports the idea of extraterrestrial life. How intelligent it is; could be questioned.

You have just destroyed any credibility you may have had, or will ever have
by using this tired old tactic.

...if ET's exist, the Jesus the Messiah must be their Lord and Saviour as well.....right?

of course they exists, in all likelyhood we are a very late developing galaxy and they all come to study us and covertly speak with our governments. Lets face it, we will be doing the same in a 1000 years providing we can get past the whole killing thing that we like to do. even the vatican says ET's exist and that they would fit in with religion very well (thats how shit scared they are of people finding out)

cool part about that IMO is that if there is a god there's no reason to think that god didn't create life on other planets. it would be arrogant of humans to think that god wasn't cheating on us with another planet.

then again if I believed in god I'd probably spend all my time praying for free beer and x-ray vision.

explain.

you watch too much TV. they ALL come to Earth? they could learn a thing or two from US hegemony, that's not how ya do it.
1 - find an unstable region (Earth)
2 - provide weapons to both sides
3 - profit
4 - support whichever side ends up gaining an edge
5 - profit
6 - enslave the losing population to harvest the region's riches
7 - prosper
8 - deplete the region of its riches, remove all weapons, power and infrastructure from the region so they're helpless to defend themselves
9 - sell of what's left
10 - profit
11 - leave

or just blow up the planet because it's in the way of an onramp for the new intergalactic superhighway and hope Zaphod Beeblebrox is nowhere in sight.

Aliens have already become a 'religion'.

However they cannot co-exist with the christian version of the universe (specifically Jesus is the messiah and savior) without rewriting 2000 years of systematic theology. Aliens could be written into a version of a creating god, but not a saving god.
