Everything you see on US TV is exactly how it is in real life. Every show is in fact a documentary or reality show. I'm sure it's similar in other countries.

If im calling someone in a office 90% of the time Im either checking up on their progress of work there doing for me or collecting money. 9% Im calling a girlfriend or friend. either case most of the time I either dont want the person Im calling for to know who it is before i speak with them or I dont want them to know my friends are receiving personal calls at work.

I don't say goodbye to people who I talk to constantly like on a daily basis, maybe 'I'll see you in a bit' or something like that but I say goodbye to people who I talk to less frequently than that.

I think the point is that there is a definite ending to the convo and that ending is acknowledged as opposed to on TV where it isn't.

What a funny thread.
I always say Bye when I'm getting off of the phone but I've noticed the same thing in movies.
You know what else I always notice and always annoys me? Is how in every single movie when Lightening Strikes, the thunder sound hits.
There's only one reason why you would ever hear thunder and see a flash at the exact time and thats when the cloud is directly over you. And the thunder roar is deafening and rumbling your shit. ha

also, do people really order by saying "Yeah Gimme a beer" or whatever they're ordering?
maybe what's happening is that's how everyone carries on in Hollywood and they've forgotten how real people live think that's how everyone is
