i cant stand the NI sound, its just so recognisable and too clean. Its the type of sound that will be laughed at in a decade as "the 00's sound" dull clean and lifeless, give me some shity homemade vst by some crapbag in his attic anyday of the week.

everything is lifeless until you take the time to breath live into it
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

True, all generalizations are false.

wtf? I didn't know there was a set hierarchy of stuff you neeeded to use if you owned it?

Speaking of NIN; make sure to check these videos with Alessandro Cortini of NIN.
http://www.emusician.com/videos/alessan ... nthesizer/

It's a series of four short videos - he explains why and how they use the overly sexy modulars and software. Really cool walkthrough.
not trying to be an asshole here, I just think he'd have to be insane to use massive when he can use ANYTHING. but then I'm also one of the only people here that think nin's last few albums sounded terrible (ducks) but to be honost I think that host more to do with his voice going south than the music itself.
No no not the voice ...the lyrics! Voice is fine just the content.

-note to self, don't ask stupid questions on the sticky threads my user name is now stuck up there for two days it annoying

Thank you!
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

The guy must be unfamiliar with Live. The first time I saw it on the net, I rejected it as crap, can't be anything serious. But I can tell you that I was just a Shiny-GUI-horny bitch!! I've used Cubase since the Atari era, but I never looked back after trying Live. IMO it's the only DAW that lets you make music again, in stead of being a linear editor! And Live is even capable of doing that, if i want to!!
