Why doesn't everyone just get Cubase?

I'll wait for Live 8... if it won't suit my needs for more DAW features like crossfading and better envelope manipulation, I'll habe to buy another DAW (read Logic Express) and use Live in rewire, because I really cannot manage to get good results trying to record guitars and basses for my projects (extreme metal, post-core)
