Weird, I thought Event Horizon was pretty typical schlock. Truly creepy goes to

Meet the Feebles
Very Bad Things
Blue Velvet
Requiem for a dream

I find "horror" is rarely creepy.

"Funny Games" is creepy in multiple levels...

Buio Omega from Joe D'Amato. You can easily find an english dubbed copy everywhere. Superb acting from Franca Stoppi, and the main story is sick and sickening.

A tale of two sisters is one of the few films to actually slightly freak me out.

Also, Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween is absolutely brutal from start to finish.

I never used to care much about horror, rarley scares me. But thi sone freaked me out proper, like in "I'm being followed up the stairs" kind of way. Don't know why it had such an effect.

The Grudge.

Brrrrr.

Didn't help that my little girl, who has loing dark hair was gong through a phase of waking up at night. I'd wake up and she;d be standing right there.. Proper shit me up.

I was wondering when someone would mention this one, it was so 'brutal' I had to watch this one in two takes.

Clean Shaven,

nothing creepier IMO. Weirder maybe, but not creepier.

very bad things, more like a dark comedy, yes no? Its got some murder and death, but its not all that bloody/scary...

Who Framed Roger Rabit? Has more violence... IMHO.
