I am very disappointed with IK Multimedia both as support and as a company.
in April 2005 I bought Expansion Tank Omni synth which came with SampleTank
LE 2 player in both Windows and Mac (Power PC) Version.
In 2006 after the Apple switch to Intel IK site was stating that Universal Binaries of its applications will be soon available on the web site. In November 2006 I got a Mac. Prior to doing that I wrote to support and Jason told me to wait until February or March. Then it came out the news that SampleTank LE has been dismissed, no upgrade path to Mac Users (UB). I asked for a special upgrade coupon to SampleTank (even a restricted one), Jason was telling me that I would have been contacted by Sales Support. I'm still waiting.
So IK Really pissed me off. Your being here means that Ableton Live user community is gaining momentum and expanding. Personally I do not like it because my experience with IK has been a nightmare. It's not fair to go fishing around, especially when you demonstrated that you are not a good company to have business with. The Support Level of Ableton is unmatched in the industry and it'll probably set the standard for many years to come. With IK I lost money and time. With Ableton I make Music.

With all due respect Pasha, if Jason had passed you onto another department, maybe your deal got lost in the pass over. I have no idea how IK's company departments are structured, but if they are anything like most then chances are the accounts and sales department probably isn't run by the warm cuddly version of the human beings. Maybe try writing to Jason again and ask if he can help?
Alternatively drop Paul a PM and mybe pass on any email correspondance you had with Jason, and maybe he can help.

I've had a few dealings with iK, what with computers going belly up and so on, and they have always been very cool.
Hi Homebelly,

You outlined out exactly what I did, several times.
Jason never game me a reply.
I'm sorry if I was rude but that reflects my sentiment about IK.
I sure will PM Paul as a last chance. However, I do not welcome this forum mix up. It would be better that IK spend time & money with Ableton to solve the well known issue with Sampletank and other plug-ins. Moreover I'm not questioning the IK product quality, which is good but in my experience it was the company as
a whole - Sales + Support that didn't perform as expected
Mac Studio M1
Live 12 Suite,Zebra ,Valhalla Plugins, MIDI Guitar (2+3),Guitar, Bass, VG99, GP10, JV1010 and some controllers

I couldn't agree more. This is totally unprofessional, imho. This is not:

http://www.ikmultimedia.com/index.php?Community

It is:

www.ableton.com/forum

I find it completely rude that another company would send support staff in here, to introduce themselves, and start to field random questions.

If I can't get my Recycle to work I do not email:

[email protected]

I send off a letter to:

http://www.propellerheads.se

Likewise,

Does IK multi-media think I will come to their forum and ask questions about Virsyn's Tera Synthesizer?

This is totally ludicrous. It will confuse the "newbie" users and annoy the "veterans."
too many lasers...

I actually just presumed it was someone playing a joke. That it really is someone from IKM is astonishing.
Utter naivity and lack of professionalism one might expect to see from some bedroom plugin developer.

Funny though.

Why do the amp sims (amplitube, hendrix and the bass emulation) run so processor heavy in Live on a mac?

Like about 4 or 5 of them kill my machine (core 2 duo Mk 2, 3 gigs Ram).

It's not a slow machine by any stretch of the imagination but surely I should get better performance, will the plugs be re-coded / optimised at any point?

Bgrds

TS

PS the soft is Ultra cool :) Just processor heavy.
Hi TS,

Lets take a look.. Have you updated your AmpliTube software to the latest versions? Check out your IK account for the updates and follow accordingly. This may cure some of the troubles. Also, check the Preferences button as their are options to run aspects of the plugin at a higher sample rate thus increasing the CPU load. Try checking these off, it will help quite a bit. This will sacrifice your audio quality just a bit, but its minimal. What I would recommend to do is to bounce your tracks and save the preset within AmpliTube, then remove it. This will allow you to use multiple instances of AmpliTube, get the tones you need, and not have any CPU issues.

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hi Pasha,

Sorry to hear this! I do apologize for the difficulty and troubles IK may have caused you. A solution is available for you and would be quick and painless. I will PM you.

In the future, please feel free to hound us a bit! Our support staff has fluctuated over the years and there is a chance you did get lost in the shuffle when being transferred to sales. We are all human and do err sometimes. :)

As far as my presence here, IK is always looking to expand and improve support with our users. Since we have many Ableton users and I myself am a Live user, I thought this would be a good thing!

Anyway, check your messages and let me know what you think! Hopefully, I can make you a happy IK user once again.

Thanks.

Hi j2j and dirtycode,

I never meant for my posting to be rude or obtrusive to Ableton or its users! I love Ableton and have worked with them quite a bit in the past. Nothing but love and respect here.

You will not find me posting threads on any IK products, that is not what this is about. You will only see me replying to threads if an IK product is brought up. You may see me posting in other threads with my own personal questions on Live and such, but I am not here to promote or spam for IK in anyway.

I think more users will benefit from my being here, than vets or noobs will be annoyed or confused by my presence. That is what I hope, and if that is not the case, I will bow out and bid you farewell! If Ableton sees this as bad, wrong, rude, spammy, etc.. in anyway, I will not post.

I hope you can understand my presence here and accept me into the community!

Thanks.
