I respond to the political posts on the board, btw. And expecting civility where american politics is on parade day after day is hoping for alot.
B0unce, I just deleted these pictures you posted. That's absolutely insulting and disgusting, and has nothing to do here. Please, keep the violence out of here. Insulting in a thread that asks for better behaviour, how would we call that, but blind provocation?

May I ask: what are you looking for? What's your goal here?

Regards,
Amaury

Some folks from Ableton are always reading the forums, and you all know how to reach us in case things go totally wrong. Also, the problem is that it is really hard to judge sometimes what is irony, and to tell what really goes on. And our resources are limited. The Ableton people who read the forum do so to understand what the users think of the software, what their problems and needs are. The less time we spend with scrolling thru offensive nonsense, the more time we have for discussing more important topics...

b0unce's goal is to turn as many threads as possible into a car crash with the intention of slowing everyone down that passes to observe the mess he creates.

ya I noticed you edited the pics Amaury.

Why shouldn't we see what people look like after american bombs are dropped on them ? seeing as it's a constant talking point ?

There are better places for that, thanks.

Explaining common sense to the socially disabled is as hard as teaching writing to a reading inept.

eh, there's no sense in censoring the images of war and allowing the endless discussion. where it doesn't belong.

is this why nazis in germany got as far as they did ? this warped sense of civility ?

You know, there's news and entertainment. Everyone can chose which channel to switch to. Sometimes you see news (including violence) on entertainment channels and sometimes you see entertainment (including sex) on news channels. But generally you are not bombarded with one while expecting the other, it tends to be subtle if it's made good. You don't do it subtle, you do it blunt. People feel offended if someone breaks in their social door. You will learn that once you grew up, don't worry!

I totally disagree with you posting those images, here..

but regarding the original post;
This is a forum about music,
about music software,
and about related topics.

i.m.h.o. that should also go for OT/US politics..
the general forum is just too poluted with OT's..
trying to find anything interesting in the general forum is looking for a needle in a haystack really..

it has been suggested a million times already but why no OT forum?

Well seeing as you want rid of the USpolitical threads also you are entitled to disagree.

This thread is about problems with the forum, meef expressed relief that it might mean the end of the USpoliitical threads, I posted pics of injured Iraqi's to drive the point home. It's not illogical to post them in here, so maybe Crash you could STFU ? seeing as you only got here 4 days ago I don't think you have experienced enough of the political posts on this board to 'get' my point.

I know that the "General" forum should include everything, but what would be so bad about an "OT" forum section? As in off topic from music related things. I think this would solve most problems. If people want to talk politics, they can take it there and not bother people like bounce who don't need to see US political threads, and then bounce won't piss people off by responding, yada yada whatever.

It's a music forum. Lets have the general section be general but music related. Then have a general OT forum. It's simple.

You'll see the fighting in the general section disappear and people can duke it out seperately in the OT.

thanks

I knew what point you were making with those images..
its just that I found them disgusting..

anyway, on topic..
yes I would really like to see the OT/US politics threads to go into a separate forum so I have the choice to not seeing them..

OT sections would not help.

The problem is not the [OT] threads, but those which start as a useful discussion about a music related topic and end up as flame wars. What would you do with those threads? Shall we move this thread here to an OT section since it has been abused already?

Robert
