I've been using 8.1.3 on w7x64 all day with some UAD plugs and have had no problems making an awful racket the entire time.

As I'm still learning (noob), the crashes in earlier releases have not bothered me too much. However, today has been the first in a long time that I've not had to 'recover from previous session' a few times.

Two or three people in this thread tested it out and had problems

SubFunk publicly quit using Ableton Live (again  )

A number of users took the opportunity to continue to ask for free stuff because of Live 8 bugs, and they continued to make themselves look like douche bags

Whining, whining, and more whining...
Thanks so much for this concise summary as i've been luxuriating in The Lounge and felt duty bound to check if any critical information may have emerged herein

4 hours solid with not a twitch and added some loopers back in as well....

Given a critical fail every half hour with the 7th beta i'm gonna leave it running overnight to see if it's the best version yet...

Cheers

All in all, a very boring thread.

Back to the music...
Awesome, thanks :)

Installed last release canididate last night. No more crashes when loading in some of lives big session drum kits which was an improvement :) Ran some cpu and memory heavy session and it held up ok. Had about 5 crashes though. 2nd one is a new phenomenon on my machine.
1. Audio locked in an endless loop when trying to preview a latin percussion clip
2. Several crashes where live just disappears, audio stops, force quit doesn't work. Recover the set now works though which is good. This crash also happened in Live 8.1.1 and my 7.0.10 (which was rock solid)

I can't tell about cpu, no problem so far

But I've noticed one thing; When I collect&Save, it takes ages.
it's not crashing though.
I've the recording events in the title bar, I suppose it's because of the beta.
Well I imagine the collect&save is slowed down because of it.

Oh another thing but i've never done this before:
on my laptop I was playing latin percussion with launchpad in user1 mode, a fulfilled drum rack.
I closed the laptop [live pref with allow Sleep mode on], when I opened the laptop and did wake it, I havn't touch the user1 button again and started by playing with the launchpad.
Surprisingly the key had changed, well I enjoy it as I can reach some pads I can't with the default user mode. At last without a pitch midiFx
I guess it's one spotted bug, though you can resolve it by pressing the user1 button on the controler

I go back making music

Cpu for me is identical to the previous beta's, not seeing an increase or decrease.

I'm curious so I'll just ask; the guys who suffered crashes: what did you do with the livepack?[/quote]

Live packs sent to the [email protected] they were "away/busy" so sent it onto support.

i ve the very strong impression that its heavier.. maybe because of 10.63 ?

maybe a tactical mistake to do that update.. some things seem to be in general slower now...at least some webpages need ages now too load..but that might have other reasons..

anyway apple recomended 10.63 very much for logic...

Hmm, having issues switching my 8.1.3 project back to my RME card after using it on the onboard soundcard for awhile. Bug report sent.

^ Hey let us know if you keep having issues with that... other sets etc.

I'd be down to download the beta on my laptop and further test that.

Windows 7. TC Electronic Konnekt6.

I don't record on the laptop, just mess with MIDI drums and edit sometimes, so I'd be down to help get to a better L8.

I have one track that we just finished. I'd be willing to see if I can break it, for the cause.
