Awesome program!

One question - In the Clip Launching template, if I move the grid down from scenes 1-4 to the next four, 5-8, visually everything updates. But if I click on Scene launch buttons 5-8, it launches Scene 1. Anyone else have this problem?

Hope I described it well

Yup. On the mac, you can choose Create Network... from the airport menu to create an "ad-hoc network" from your computer to iPod/iPad.
Excellent, thanks. What functions as the wireless provider, the iPod/iPad?
No, the computer. You're basically creating a device to device network.

So the computer functions as a wireless base station to the iPod/iPad? Makes sense. Is it using Bluetooth or just the antennas in both devices?

It uses wifi, not bluetooth.

Hmm i thought id fixed that, will check.
illsub1 wrote:Amazing work and many thanks! My only humble request is to have octave up and down button via modifier in the step sequencer. It would make it much easier to navigate. Again greatly appreciated.
Yer that sounds like a good idea, im working on the sequencer at the moment, ive added mutes, just want to add some scales too, and i'll add octave jump
Popeye wrote:hi all,
to st8 big compliments! thx!
for my situation using livecontrol on winxp is, it works for both ports (outgoing and incoming).
sometimes the local ip address changes for some reason i don't know and i don't care.
so i check my livecontrol_to.txt when something goes wrong.
I like to report the following:
1.) working in ableton live. you create tracks, as much you can see on your ipod (7x4),
fill it with clips, group these tracks and receive one track.
2.)in livecontrol for some reason you see blank clips, but you can trigger the clips and scene launchers.
no "stop" function on that track, but "stop all" works.
what do you think st8?
would the matrix be very effective if you can use groups too? not so much srolling down?
is the compexity a lot?
thanks for your ear.

I'm updating group support too. It does work at the already, clips will dissapear when you hide the group nd reappear when you show the group. Just got to make group clips appear on the grid.

Man this is really awesome. Thanks for making this! (Ableton should offer you a deal ;))

I have a few questions:
- Will it work with all versions of OSX? (Im on 10.6.3 atm)
- Would you make a version that works with USB if possible?
(Adapters can provide USB http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC531 ... Tc0NzE1OTE)
I'm a little worried to go live with wireless communication (I'm afraid something would mess up my signal in clubs)

Thx!

Should work on any version of osx. Erm i have no plans for usb support unless touchosc adds support for it

Ive just uploaded a new version that properly supports group tracks, adds track mutes on the clip launcher, sequencer mutes, multiple xy pads for the ipad version, bonjour names to the installer and various other fixes

Just managed to get this working on my snow leopard machine.

Updating the text file with local=yourcomputername.local. was the key factor for dual conversations.

I am so going to buy and ipad now.

Clip names FTW!

I will also donate too when I get it.

Thankyou

BTW livecontrol doesnt start in tiger.

I have updated python etc...

Is there any advantage to running this on the latest 3rd generation iPod touch over the previous model?

The 3rd gen has a faster processor & graphics enhancements. Is this a definite factor, or do you think it wouldn't make a difference? Anyone try it on both models?

If it's not a factor then I'll get the previous gen & save some money. I don't really care about the other differences between them, I'm buying it primarily to use with your app & Live. But I want the best user experience I can get from this technology.

Thank ye :)

Don't know about the difference, but I have no problems or
inacceptable lags with my 1st gen iPod touch. Besides the
fact that it's veeeery small for this...

Thanks. The small size is both a blessing & a curse...

Will you get more subtle control & higher resolution on a iPad vs an iPod? Is the resolution of things like faders & knobs actually finer, or is the level of control the same with just the graphics being bigger on the iPad & smaller on the iPod? :)

i would have though the resolution was higher on the ipad, the controls arent just scaled up for the ipad
