the utility plug cant fade to silence...
but boosts an excessive amount.. i personally never needed to boost anything with the utility plug.. in general all your digital signals are to hot anyway... and you can boost too low signals with the clip volume much better because that effects the display of the waveform
but maybe ther are users that need that..
In any case it would be very beneficial when this thing gets a range switch so one can have the option to use it as a secondary fader.. this is important when using the utility as secondary or alternative automation level.. but also would enhance the creative posebilitys of racks by allowing to set up own crossfaders this way or various other fx one wnats to blend parts of the sounddesign to silence independent from the parameters the involved plugs have to offer

all the possebilitys of assigning ranges to controlers and have one controler doing multiple parameters are great..
just on thing missing and it would be nearly perfect..
there is no offset parameter or start parameter.. so the position where the knob starts its assignend range..
that third check box in the assignement window would allow for so much more and really fancy controlability that it would be really worthwhile to add that...
you could do for exampel knobs that have the zero value in the middle..
so you can have one knob to control 2 fx sends for exampel.. so from middle to the left is fx send 3...from middle to the right is fx send 4...
just one example.. in general the fine tunability of complex controler assignemen would rise by 200%.. you could adjust very sensetivly than.. what makes the whole controller assignement cheme more musical..
this is clearly a feature wish and not really a thing one can call a problem..but was getting in my way a few times..and therefore i add it here..nothing you can blame ableton for,

but a detail problem never the less

for some strange reason ableton live attracts a very simple minded type of users.. if this is because of its simplicity or because ableton rhimes with simpleton..or just the preset content... hard to say..
i would think its the preset content...
