Well followed the instructions (was easier with that pack that was made)

Modified the defaults for eq8 and works fine!

Thanks everyone!

Stay tuned, we are preparing a community mapping where every Live device has a good mapping. We will make this available as soon as all the errors are removed. :)

(You will certainly still be able to make further adjustments to that file if you wish to do so.)

Tom, I've tested every device's mappings you've sent me, including the newer Tension, Electric and Collision and removed all errors. All working fine - I've never really fooled around with the latter three - but it's a whole new world with your Push mappings - hugely enjoyable to use them now.

So, did you test that all the banks work in all the devices, and also display the correct bank names? This is in the file, where Stray ironed out that .vst bug?

If the answer is yes to all of the above, we can say mission accomplished! :-) Good work Ted!

Now we need a place where we can host that file. If we have that, I will update the OP to reflect that success.
Cool 8)

Yes, I copy/pasted everything into Stray's fixed py file. I still need to check on the small handful of effects devices (chorus and maybe 3 more) that don't show bank names, only "bank 1", "bank 2" etc, not a big deal, but would like to be thorough. I cannot check now - I'm at work, but will tonight. Then I think it should ready for anyone to use and edit as they see fit.

No Tom I don't use yours.
Actually, I did, and then re-order to my taste.
I'll share it as soon as I can fix this 2-3 missing things.
All my BoBs are gone btw. They're back when I put the original pyc.
I need to investigate more.

Yeah that's how to go about it
But are you than saying that those values don't work when they are accessed by Push!

Regarding the BoB behavior: Is it now certain that this is a Live bug, and not us messing with things?
The values/parameters are not even seen by Push, it just displays a blank area instead (only where there's this "wrong" parameter name).

Regarding BoB: I can reproduce it in L9.0.5 ( I do all this re-mapping thing on the 9.1beta), I have reported it, someone's at Ableton is on it but can't reproduce it. So maybe it is just because we're messing with things, but...
No one here can reproduce it ?

Hey Tom, I don't know about using Github (or at Stray's ?) but, if needed I can host it.

I just made an account on GitHub, but it seems there is no way to actually upload a file... (you can just make one)

Regarding the fix parameter in Operator:
It seems like the parameter name has an extra space before the second ' ('D Fix On ')
Try this spelling.

Ok Tom, I'll try that.
As I said I can host the files with no problem.
Can you try to reproduce the bug I've described regarding BoBs ? I've detailed how to reproduce it (for me at least).
It's not big case, but if it happen to everyone who use a modified .py then we should investigate it.

tedlogan just confirmed that the missing extra space was the problem.

I can not test anything unfortunately, as I don't have Push yet (still saving), that's why I couldn't have done it without you guys :-)
But maybe tedlogan could test the behavior.

The extra space at the end of 'Fix On ' was the solution, you rock Tom.
Where did you noticed this ?

Just by the way I make those mappings.
I rack the instrument, then assign what I would like in a bank to the macros, then I go to "rename" in the macro fields, and copy the name from there to past it in the code. That's where I noticed this being unusual for the fixed on parameters.
BTW my new mapping (so it wasn't the final one yet ;-) ) contains this and the frequency control for fixed and free...

Try it: :-)

Code: Select all

OPR_BANK1 = ('A Fix Freq', 'A Fix Freq Mul', 'A Coarse', 'A Fine', 'A Fix On ', 'Osc-A On', 'Osc-A Wave', 'Osc-A Level')
OPR_BANK2 = ('Ae Mode', 'Osc-A Phase', 'Ae Init', 'Ae Peak', 'Ae Attack', 'Ae Decay', 'Ae Sustain', 'Ae Release')
OPR_BANK3 = ('B Fix Freq', 'B Fix Freq Mul', 'B Coarse', 'B Fine', 'B Fix On ', 'Osc-B On', 'Osc-B Wave', 'Osc-B Level')

Yup that mapping is awesome. And in case you haven't noticed - it allows for more than 16 banks - 17 in this mapping - unlike VST mapping via "configure"
