1. I didn't get a beta invite.
2. $400 - I don't want to invest time in learning another DAW. $400 can buy some stuff to compliment a current DAW.
3. Still kinduva newb at Live.

There are a lot of people that are bummed they didn't get to the beta invite. I believe they will succumb and get over it.

I'm glad that Ableton will have some competition, but to me, Bitwig just looks like a cheap knockoff of Live. I know that may piss some people off, but I have to call it like I see it.

Boxed version are shipping to retailers as of March 13th, which leads me to suspect that there's a gold master out there somewhere...

I will demo it... On a rainy otherwise uninspired day, of course... Why not try it? Mr. Wilms seems like a humble legit fella. I like like how he describes the team's thinking behind the development process. BUT I will not be purchasing it this year. Got my sights set on the new KORG/ARP Odyssey...I'm sure one will already be digging deep for that piece of kit. Cheers

I saw that video before. Still not that impressed. Yes, it does seem to be able to do a few things that Live can't, but it also seems to be missing a lot of things that Live can do. It still needs time to develop if it wants to be a serious threat to Live.
Oh, and as far as the clip launch and arrangement in the same view, I've seen that before too:
Cakewalk's now discontinued Project 5 V2 had that years ago.

If Bitwig has way better audiowarp soundquality than Live, i am steppin over.
I think all the warp protocols in Live are a joke, soundquality wise.

Macbook Pro 15", 8 Gig Ram, Mavericks 10.9, Novation Impulse, Maschine MKII, Live 9.1 (latest beta 64bit), Logic Pro X 10.04, Protools 11.02, just too many plugins.

It didn't sound all that different in the YT beta demo, but I didn't expect it to. It doesn't look all that different. I guess a little workflow improvements here and there makes a big difference for some. I dunno, couldn't they have just posted some feature request threads here? THERE ARE WHELMS ABOVE ME.

"Bitwig Linux version goes well" - only if the source code is released so Linux 'people' can play with it!
If not, then No!
I'm surprised there is still no demo - as I would think the release version would be finished ready for distribution - which smacks me that there will be an update patch on release day to fix major flaws.
I have still seen no music, apart from a few odd bitwig bits, made by the bitwig software.
It will most likely be a freebie in a few years.

Those bits may have been used to promote BitWig, but they were made on the iPhone. No, wait... Wilms is not Ellen Degeneres.
