The singles they have out are weak compared to the full length cd's

Plies blew it and Lil Boosie is aight - the first track on his album is pretty slammin

While Jeezy's album is old (so is ricks ross's who's got a new one coming out this feb) that album is pretty off the hook

"....Jeezy like ta drank / jeezy like ta smoke / Jeezy like to mix his arm and hammer wit his coke"

I've been blessed to come up off some of gangsta raps best so I'm sprung...Im moving to Dade county :D

a

Define old.

To me something need to be more than 5 years old for me to even consider it old.

As far as music, I pretty much label things after 4 months as "old". I still refer to cds as so-sos newest most of the time though when appropriate. jezzys cds nearly if not a whole year old now. speaking of which I heard a new single today, from the last bit I heard it sounds on par with his old stuff. anyone know when the new cd comes out?

I'm too white to understand what real gangsta rap is or who would "really" qualify to fit in that category, but Dr. Dre and Ludicris do it for me well when it comes to listening to rap (as far as those that are still around)...all time favorite rapper though is without a doubt 2Pac...don't ever really listen to it much but when I do I have CD's from all three

my definition of old as far as music's concerned is when a song has run it's course on either

a) the radio

b) dj's record bags

c) music video's

or

d) when sales of said single or album grind to a halt

usually in my experience music has a shelf life of about 3 to 5 months

a really good strong single or album will play in above categories for about 3 to 5 months before you start to see it disappear

so, anything that's run it's course on the radio, in record crates, in video's or record sales is by MY definition old

Don't hate on me, but all this gangsta shit is whack.
Some decent beat and rapping here and there, but there's absolutely nothing worth in the lyrics and flows, and that puts me off it.
I LOVED real hip hop:
ATCQ, Das Efx, Guru and many others, preferably spittin' on a Primo or Jay Dee joint.
That was truthful music, music that I still listen to the present day.
Not this wannabe suburban thug crap that's all over the place.
Can you even compare this:

To this?

Nah, not in my book.
Just my two cents.
