Ollyb and Charlie, you have excellent taste in synths. Out of all of them, the OB-8 and the P5 are the ones I covet most!

Looks like they didn't make flat screen monitors back in 2004. Look at those microwaves everyone was staring into.

Yeah, it's just an IKEA bedside table, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90120545

I actually just changed it so now it's just two pieces of wood!

my setup:

gear that might be interesting:
there's a webcam in the bottom of the cardboard box that i'm using to make a touchpad midi controller for live. it's in the early stages.
16" sony vaio with 2.8ghz p4 (will hopefully be mb pro in april)
roland vs-880 (right now just a midi controller)
yamaha ub-99b multieffect (might at some point get this in my live setup)
peavey 15" pa cab that doesn't work

if there's anything glaringly wrong with my setup (besides the old laptop and lack of monitors), let me know, i'm looking for stuff to get for the holidays (as my failed thread said).

I love that you have a VS-880.
One of those was my first trip into digital music way back in about 1996/97ish?
I borrowed one off of a friend that left it behind when he went on tour.
Up until then i had been using a TASCAM porta one, razor blades, guitar FX and a ZOOM DI box. The VS-880 was a revelation, When my buddy came off the road he had to get me unconscious drunk to get it back.
