Nice. I'll check the B&N reader.

A couple more nifty apps..

The Weber Grilling app. 250 recipes with pictures, some with video (click on the video and it first asks if you are using gas or briquettes, cool), grocery shopping list you can check off ingredients as you grab them (who the fuck is going to bust out their iPad at the grocery store?!? but iPhone version also available), 100+ grilling tips, and an attached timer that you can either use for the specific recipe or general recommended cook times for anything else.

Also somebody on here awhile back posted a link to the Nay Seals fitness program PDF...well, there's an app for that.

Shit, I haven't even gotten to the music related apps yet.

That sucks. Do you get the B&N online store in Germany?

@beats
I picked up the Weber app a couple of days ago. Fucking great app.

Here's some eBook stuff:

Calibre
Nice app to convert different eBook formats you might run across into ePub.

H.P. Lovecraft Collection
Nearly every one of his stories. Free.

(mobileread.com is a great little forum for eBook info.)

Great site with free eBooks. I think dum might have posted this one in another thread.

Picked up a lot of classic HG Wells stuff here. Great SciFi section.

Kind of funny, but if I had to quickly pick one app to show the iPad off as a "game changer" it would be the Weber app because it's usefulness would be quick and obvious to anybody.

Epicurious is another great app along those lines but more for general cooking and I was using it on the iPhone before.

Thanks for all the ebook info...more to explore later in the week.

Not really, there's no .de store like there is for Amazon.

Here's one for you: in Facebook/Safari, when I create a new FB message the iPad keyboard doesn't appear when the cursor's in the address field... Meaning you can't send any FB messages! Tried switching FB from German to UK English and also the Atomic browser instead of Safari, but no luck... Same for you guys?

Don't really facebook that much, but are you talking just through the browser because I think there is a facebook app, might work better on that.

Facebook app is only for iPhone, hasn't been properly converted for iPad... yet...

One thing I don't really like is the speaker. Not the quality because I wouldn't expect much there, but when you are doing things in landscape mode everything comes out of one side which makes it sound unbalanceed because, well, it is. Unless I am missing something.

This will probably be fixed in the next gen iPad. Which I started saving for today.

I tell you one thing, though.

I gotta get better about trimming my thumbnails.

Just sayin.

I signed up for the $15 data plan for the month. I brought the iPad to work and am testing it with Pandora all day to see how much data gets raped and pillaged from the plan.

PS. Listening to the Pretty Lights channel and about every 3rd song is Deadmau5. Is Deadmua5 a default "sounds like" artist for any kind of music that's electronic?!?

A big booooo about Pandora is if you click on the link to go to buy the song or check out the artist on iTunes it closes Pandora (stopping the music) and opens iTunes.

I'm sure multitasking could fix this depending on how it works. I hope it's a transparent one click process.

$15 a month plan no good for streaming music. After about 6 hours it's used 101MB of the available 250MB. Damn, this brings me back to the AOL per hour charge days.
