so what is your ranting about Live compensating for?3phase wrote:probably to compensate for a certain smallness
you don't want to help Ableton, you want to shit on them right in their very own forums. pretty funny but dum did it MUCH better years ago. that was some funny shit.
you don't want Ableton to help you. they offered an amazing opportunity, have a motherf-ing developer use your setup and omfg, fix it. you refused that offer. that tells a lot about how serious you take your DAW usage. EVERYONE would love to have a developer tighten their rig, you refuse. what?!?!?! I don't know how you could pass that up.
what do you want? or as you put it, what are you compensating for?
what's the dealio 3phase??
by all means, pick Live apart it makes my installation that much better. if they're still listening.

i answer that when you erase your poser smilies or at least replace them with something in a decend szisePoster wrote:+1djsynchro wrote:So what is it that you LIKE about Live?
it cant be this small.. or?
oh tonedeft.sorry that ive forgotten you in the list of the 3 users.. its 4... of cause..
but could you fanboys please shut up when an experianced user places some constructive critics?
that many of the points mentioned here was allready in discussion almost a decade ago clearly shows the demand to list them..
and within all the details ther might be just the one or other thing that wasnt intended this way..
with the dedictated controler implementation alone i could list 50 points
i am just not in hurry to give others some space to chime in.. i will reach the 200..no doubt..

you overestimate ableton developers.. you surely do.. its not my setup ..its faulty implementations in the program..
i only was one of the first that reportet crashes.. by now everybody knows that this wasnt my setup..just you 4 master fanboys till ignore that fact.. which only can be interpreteted as a lack of brain capacity

I've never seen you post in a beta testing forum. I was reporting bugs in Live 8 before you ever downloaded it.3phase wrote:i only was one of the first that reportet crashes.

my guess is that what he aims for with this thread is trying to build a stronger case to back up his claims about being right in future debates..:Tone Deft wrote:what do you want? or as you put it, what are you compensating for?3phase wrote:probably to compensate for a certain smallness
I can sum up 378 things I don't like about my bike, still a good bike though..3hase wrote:..oh really?.. Ableton still has to fix 378 flaws.. there!
This thread doesn't help anyone.. sure there are a few good suggestions in here but the personal vendetta is again, so obvious..

it's been written many times that people who beta test have much better luck with Live than people that don't. pretty obvious result.3phase wrote:seeing all the crashbugs that surrived your betatesting you leave me not much choice...

sure the user karma.. nice ableton internal ideology..but reality is rather that fanboys doing the betatesting are a waste of time ..
what was never better to see than with the L8 release..but also before ther was the strong tendency that quite obvious bugs went into the forst release version.. Abletons money safing tactics here is really not very professional.. and i hope they learned from the L8 desaster to dont rely on you "good karma" boys for the betatesting...

Re: All the little detail problems with Ableton Live Collection
I have surprised myself by actually reading all twelve pages of this. Some good stuff in here and some things that have bugged me about Live over the years.
Did Ableton really offer to send a developer round to tweak your setup?

it goes on from there.[nis] wrote:You're right, I can't help you solving existing shortcomings of the software, but I might have some more knowledge about the inner workings of Live, which could help you guys to prevent unforeseeable hickups as you had during your last show. Still just an offer. My time is limited, but I'm willing to come by if that helps you. And yes, we're studio-neighbors since Rok moved out of the studio space 12 years ago.3phase wrote:i am not against a meeting or chat.. i just said that he cant help for the gig setup problem..

Re: All the little detail problems with Ableton Live Collection
no... one ableton support guy offered to help my syncproblem but had to admit that my syncproblem is actually theire syncproblem..Macrostructure wrote:Did Ableton really offer to send a developer round to tweak your setup?
they thought that 1-2 bpm derivations that lead to samplerate conversion allways on and no latency compensation, is acceptable.. and that my setup was performing worse..
I made clear that i allready have that performance and i call it inferior.. i also brought some proof that the timing is screwed ableton internally and thats pretty obvious that theire algorythm is not capabel enough to deal with the situation.
so we agreed to dont meet to dont waste our time and have them trying to optimize that for L9..
When this happens in the typical ableton style as a halfbaked solution it will be still better than its now,..
124
there is absolutly no acceptable reason why two ableton live instances on two apple laptops ..with wordclock synced interfaces -..running on the same speed.. cant be synced propperly..
an algorythm that cant even deal with that ideal situation is most defently not state of the art..
however..there is another thread with lots of possible solutions to the sync problem..and the mighty ableton developers are probably able to come up with even better ones when they only reallly want..
problem.. mr henke dont needs syncing.. so its not high in the agenda...
