He’s probably in Russia right now telling Putin he’s nailing it on every governmental level.
Penn is so tragically "indie-left-wing-lone-ranger" that it's becoming annoying.
I'd like to line up every single smug poser "Oscar Rewards" attendee and successively/individually drain their bank accounts and net worth for redistribution to those in need.

As opposed to who?
All follywood
pretends to be a liberal asswipe with incredible "morals" while being the douche of the decade. None of them are any different.
Oh.......and about those "rich white republicans.........."

pretends is the keyword
Their function is to spread the propaganda of American exceptionalism to the world. The rah rah rah exeptionalism only works well for your own people as propaganda. For the world outside you need to make America look like the good guys, heaving great morals, which they always stick to, to the bitter end, spreading peace and democracy...and nonsense like that.
Works too
(Just so I don't get hit with the blunt anti-American hammer again: The rest of the world is doing the same, just
way less sucessfully

John Oliver on a scene in 50 Shades of Gray featuring badly scripted flirting and zero chemistry –“Wow, my penis just yawned.”
I’m going to have to start dating again just so I can use that line.

Nightcrawler. Movie of the year for me for 2014. And I love listening to the score while working in Maya, on repeat.

As for the original I found it dark and uncomfortable. Not sure if I liked at first but it stuck in my mind so I guess I did like it, or it was at least a good movie. A rare gem about somebody challenging themselves and it's not one long feel goodery with people patting them on the back.
Also another angle on the music business being fucked up. Noobs should watch the movie before posting stupid questions on the forum.

Saw Citizenfour, currently free on HBOGo. Have to admit I didn’t really follow the Snowden story much beyond he did what he did. In the doc he seems like a nice enough guy and if anything it was an interesting view of the every-man suddenly getting targeted by the US government on an international manhunt.

Meh, he just disclosed the fact that the US government (along with other world governments) is tracking all the digital and cellular activity of every person on the planet and gave some proof. Not really shocking or endangering specific people. The government’s legal response “Well that just sounds fucked up when this nobody noob says it like that”.
