Yeah. when you compare it.... It's been reasonably calm.
I guess Ableton learned their lesson with teasing the crap out of us untill the "refresh-your-browser-madness" starts again

A feature list would be welcome though :P

either that or Noisetonepaws is right and the new motto of Live is "no fun" and they are only going to take things out.

I've only bothered the hard-working Ableton server once for each version of Live I've ever downloaded. This is a MUCH cheaper solution than Ghost, although Ghost is of course a very good way to go. So long as you're not changing components like CPU or Mobo, this is a perfectly good solution.

Note, I have no clue how this works for you Mac freaks.
AND THERE IT IS!

this thread is hilarious! it has taken 11 pages and the funniest thing of all is that right here, after 11 pages in this simple few sentences Nebulae has given the most straight forward solution to all our poor OCD afflicted friend's woes.
Yeah, it's too bad he didn't want a simple no-cost solution...he just wanted to be pissed off. (I picked that up after page 1, and then skipped to the end.) :)

Same ting. It's in ~/Library/Application\ Support/Ableton somewhere, I think it is.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Yes, that would be:

~/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 5.2/Unlock/Unlock.cfg

It's a breeze. Buried... but a breeze.

darthstephen... stop pissin' about and do a sensible thing. make music, not reinstalls.

No features in Live 6. We gave up features. We just change the startup screen, the package and the marketing strategy. Implementing features turned out to be too exhausting. And none of us has enough time to play with the existing features.
You should all relax, continue discussing uninstalling the installer or whatever feels appropriate and have a great summer.

Cheers, Robert

new features serve a very important function as an excuse for fairly useless tinkering/investigation, helping us avoid productivity with the almost infinite bounty already provided by live's current feature set. (this thread serves much the same function.)

Oh yeah, well, how many times did you authorize your version of Live before Dominic tore you a new bunghole?

for the record....does anyone know of another software company that would dole out 10 (or 11?) authorisations to one client in the space of 6 months ?

I'm genuinely curious, cos it seems that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond my own estimations of what even ableton would allow, I thought I'd be pushing it asking for 3. i wasted an auth on a virused-to-hell OS...
